Come promesso eccomi qui a commentare (come se importasse e qualcuno, visto anche l’affluenza di mp:asd:)

La prima cosa che mi viene da dire è che questo manga letto nel periodo in cui fu scritto avrebbe certamente fatto un altro effetto. Nel 2003 parlare di guerra in medio oriente, di ispettori, di armi di distruzioni di massa mai trovate avrebbe fatto molto più effetto con l’allora guerra in Iraq appena scoppiata. Detto questo Urasawa se ne frega altamente della guerra:asd:. Cioè non si perde in una pedante filippica pacifista, c’è solo qualche accenno di condanna della guerra ma non di più come se la sua assurdità fosse chiara e immediata, senza neanche il bisogno di farlo notare. L’attenzione di Urasawa si concentra come suo solito su aspetto più intimi, più legati alla persona e all’individuo. Perciò se la storia scritta da Tezuka mirava a condannare l’assurda corsa alle armi, qua le tematiche cambiano profondamente. Le riflessioni sui diritti dei robot, la loro somiglianza sempre maggiore agli esseri umani, sia nell’aspetto ma soprattutto nella capacità di provare affetto, tristezza, rabbia, odio ecc.
Non sono un esperto di fantascienza però credo che di certo non saranno tematiche nuove in questo genere di letteratura. Il punto è che ancora una volta non si può non apprezzare il modo in cui Urasawa racconta le sue storie, il modo in cui costruisce storia e personaggi.
È certamente uno dei manga più tristi che abbia mai letto (non in senso negativo, ma nel senso che è proprio commovente) e a tal proposito l’autore ha usato sapientemente l’estraneità dei robot rispetto ai sentimenti. Ha potuto sviscerare ad esempio la tristezza, e accompagnare sia il robot sia il lettore a provare quel sentimento (ad esempio quando la moglie del protagonista “impara” a piangere, non mi dite che non vi ha coinvolto nemmeno un pò, razza di insensibili!:asd:)

I disegni sono ottimi come sempre e mi è piaciuto moltissimo anche la scena di combattimento di Atom e Pluto. Urasawa credo sarebbe grandissimo anche nel disegnare manga di azione:sisi:

mi sono commosso nei capitoli di north#2, soprattutto per il pezzo dove muore e il vecchio lo sente cantare e lo chiama a casa. bellissimo anche il percorso di affetto che vi è tra il compositore cieco e north#2.
in generale ,però, urasawa è talmente bravo a caratterizzare i personaggi, a conferirgli umanità che scegliere un proprio preferito è impossibile.
